Re-Craft

The “Re- Craft ” opened on May 19-21 at ICFF, featuring outstanding craftworks from Chinese traditional crafts brand and artist.
Under the main theme of “Thinking through Handicrafts: Future, Craft and Mass market,” the event shows the furniture and home decor which combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design.

As the initiator of the project, Zhang Bo has been committed to the integration of local traditional crafts, culture and design for many years. He believes that bringing traditional craft and culture into daily life is the best way to promotion of traditional craft . Only by allowing more people to recognize and use these products ,The traditional crafts be promoted and passed down into public life. This is the best tribute to tradition. Taking this traditional Chinese handicraft work as a starting point, Zhang Bo’s goal is to gradually find and excavate traditional crafts in different places around the world in the future, and bring them into people’s lives through new designs and commerce, so as to protect and continue them.

During NYCxDESIGN Festival, BO will take the idea of showing traditional Chinese crafts to the public as its starting point and showcased traditional Chinese crafts with thousands of years of history. These artworks are interpreted and presented with modern designs, allowing the public to see that the artworks are no longer old objects, but brand new artworks containing rich historical stories. The exhibition at the New York x Design Festival is more diversified. This exhibition not only displays traditional craftsmanship, but also includes young artists’ interpretation of traditional Chinese culture. What’s more, the fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern design creates a series of popular products.

Bo invited more than 20 traditional craft brands and artists in China. Their innovative artworks balance traditional craftsmanship with modern design elements, such as the furniture brand MUMO, and the Dongyun Company Group, which is responsible for the restoration of fabric cultural relics in the Palace Museum. Artist Angela Wang’s brand Ratio et motus, Wang Hao, etc. Bo organized these artist to spend time, thought and creativity, using modern design concepts as a carrier, to bring ancient handicrafts with a history of thousands of years to life once again. presented to the public.

The exhibition inherits culture and craftsmanship, and also brings economic help to traditional crafts groups. This year, BO will cooperate with more traditional craft groups, artists, design institutions, and brands , Bo will establish Re-Craft platform & brand, help more traditional craft groups, and open up a new way of life experience for the public. Ultimately, it promotes the inheritance of traditional culture and the creation of contemporary design, as well as the integration of culture, craftsmanship, design, and business.
