an EXHIBIT, brings together selected works of Betil Dagdelen, Virginia Overton, and Anna Sheffield.

Dagdelen is a textile artist and designer of furniture, staged sets and architectural elements. Betil’s approach to weaving involves a self-directed curriculum of material, color and pattern study. Her work mixes traditional weaving technologies with an improvisational approach to weaving techniques. She boldly steps away from the loom in preference to weaving into and around sculpted forms. Dagdelen prefers to work with existing materials that have a story to them, and therefore uses yarn created traditionally by both Turkish and Navajo makers. She lives and works in Abiquiu, New Mexico and keeps a studio in New York where an EXHIBIT will take place for the design week.

Virginia Overton creates sculptures and installations by repurposing materials drawn from industrial, agricultural, and architectural contexts. Through decisive interventions, Overton recontextualizes these ordinary objects to reveal their intrinsic properties, shaped by repeated handling and the traces of their prior use. She is interested in the way materials behave in relation to one another – how they balance, stack, align, hold weight – often in direct response to the spaces in which they are found or installed. Overton lives and works between New York and Massachusetts.

From Sculptor to Jewelry Designer to Ceremony maker – Anna Sheffield is an artist with a designer's sensibility, who is newly turning her distinct perspective to the home with decorative objects. Drawing inspiration from the evocative beauty of materials like garden quartz and lapis lazuli, paired with the subtle warmth of ceramic and bronze, her objects possess a profound connection to the earth. She is based in and working from Taos, New Mexico, and maintains a team and presence in NYC out of her Jewelry Atelier on Bleecker Street.
