A visual talk on Fallas as a form of public graphic design. Graphic designer Javier Valiente explores how visual ideas become large-scale, ephemeral structures in urban space. Presented primarily in Spanish with strong visual support and brief English context.
This event explores Fallas, the traditional festival of Valencia (Spain), as a unique form of public visual language. Coming from a graphic design background, Javier Valiente uses Fallas as a way to test how visual ideas behave when they move beyond the page or screen and become physical, large-scale structures in urban space.
Rather than approaching Fallas only as craft or sculpture, this talk looks at them through the lens of composition, color, form, identity, and communication. It proposes a way of understanding how graphic design can expand into the street, into collective experience, and into something temporary, social, and alive.
Through images and selected projects, Javier will share how his practice moves between visual design and public installation, and how a local tradition from Valencia can open broader conversations about design, culture, community, and the city.
The event is conceived as a highly visual and accessible presentation and will be delivered primarily in Spanish, supported by strong visual content and brief English context.
