Flood Protection in Lower Manhattan: A Walking Tour of the Financial District and Seaport Climate Resilience Plan, May 16, 9:30-11am, Pier 16 (in front of the Tall Ship Wavertree)
Climate change isn’t coming; it’s here! Join the NYC Economic Development Corporation and the Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice to learn what the City is doing to protect Lower Manhattan from climate change while enhancing the waterfront to include new accessible public space, resilient ferry terminals, and improvements to stormwater management. EDC and MOCEJ will co-host the Financial District & Seaport Climate Resilience Plan site walk, which will start at the base of Pier 16 on the East River Greenway (please meet in front of the Tall Ship Wavertree). The route will be under a mile and outdoors; while the route is wheelchair accessible, some parts of the site walk may be challenging to navigate for those with mobility issues. Please contact the event organizers with any questions about the route.
