In celebration of NYCxDESIGN, Casa Gessi New York invites you to discover Incastri, a collection born from a refined dialogue between architecture, material and light. Created in collaboration with Kengo Kuma and inspired by Japanese design philosophy, Incastri introduces an aesthetic language that is essential, tactile and deeply connected to its surroundings. Rooted in a vision where subtraction reveals meaning, the collection is defined by clean geometries, balanced proportions and a sophisticated interplay of solids and voids. Each element exists in quiet harmony with space, expressing a form of minimalism that is both restrained and deeply expressive.
At its core, Incastri embodies a meeting of cultures. Traditional Japanese techniques such as “Chidori”, the art of interlocking joints without nails, and “Yakisugi”, the ancient practice of wood charring, are reinterpreted through Gessi’s contemporary design approach. The result is a collection that preserves the essence of craftsmanship while translating it into a modern architectural language.
Guests are invited to experience an immersive journey where tactility takes centre stage. Surfaces come alive through subtle variations of light and shadow, creating depth, rhythm and a seamless integration with the surrounding space.
More than a collection, Incastri reflects a deeper approach to daily living. Drawing inspiration from “Chōzu”, the Japanese ritual of purification, it transforms the simplest interaction with water into a moment of awareness and intention, where the essential becomes meaningful, and the ordinary evolves into ritual.
Curated atmospheres and signature cocktails accompany an evening designed to be both intimate and contemplative, an exploration of a design philosophy where precision, balance and sensitivity to material redefine the most intimate space of our home.
