MIOS opens its studio doors to reveal the process behind its ceramic sculptural lighting and object collection. From model to fired clay, forms are realized using additive processes and refined by hand. Featuring the UNI series and recent explorations in form and surface.
MIOS opens its studio doors for the New York design festival, offering a closer look at the process behind its sculptural lighting and object collections. A New York–based studio, MIOS creates ceramic pieces that balance material warmth with considered form, merging contemporary tools with hands-on craft. Rooted in a process-driven approach, each piece begins as a digital model and is brought to life through additive ceramic processes, hand finishing, glazing, and kiln firing. Custom hand-blown glass elements complete each work. On view is a selection of lighting and objects, including works from the UNI series and recent explorations in form and surface. Guided by a sensitivity to proportion, surface, and balance, each piece evolves through a dialogue between hand, material, and process. Subtle variations and unexpected outcomes are embraced, allowing each work to develop naturally through making. Experience the work in person. Open studio, walk-ins welcome.
