A simple tour of a working frame and print shop, focusing on an open discussion about how the world within an artwork interacts with the world outside, and the transition in between.
We will have our upstairs studio available for tours and discussions about the often overlooked job of the picture frame acting as a liminal space between the artwork and the wall. In addition we can discuss in as much detail as one would like, the details of a handmade frame versus mass production and the importance of taking stock of thoughtful design therein. Additionally we will have our downstairs screen printing studio and lounge open, hosted by our resident artist Mike King to discuss hand made rock, and gig poster design through the ages. His extensive experience goes back to the 1970s and is, in fact the most prolific gig poster designer of all time. A title that will unlikely ever be surpassed as the gig poster becomes less common.
