As part of NYCxDESIGN 2026, the Scandinavian Design Embassy is returning to New York for its second edition. It will continue its mission to activate diplomatic spaces as platforms for contemporary Nordic design.
This year marks a significant expansion, with Iceland joining the collaboration to reinforce a shared Nordic presence on the international stage. Building on activations in Stockholm, Tokyo and Paris, the New York edition demonstrates an increasing engagement with the American design scene.
Hosted at the Residence of the Consul General of Sweden, the evening will present 'Spotlight on Scandinavian Design'. Set within the intimate surroundings of the residence, the event offers an opportunity to explore new perspectives on Nordic design, including its materials, processes and values.
The 2026 showcase brings together six contemporary brands that are shaping today's Nordic design landscape. KULA by Bryndís and Aurum are making their debut from Iceland, showcasing the country’s unique approach to materials. Sweden is represented by Hem, Photowall and Vandra Rugs, who are at the forefront of textile innovation. Meanwhile, Finland’s Inno presents furniture solutions designed for modern, sustainable interiors.
Together, these participants embody the core principles of Nordic design: sustainability, functionality and a thoughtful approach to everyday living.
