AM Collective is kicking off NYCxDESIGN with an opening reception for Surface Rising, an exhibition exploring the unbound beauty and power of materiality. Surface Rising will feature new works by Copenhagen-based architectural ceramicist Manuel Canu, marking his first solo exhibition in the United States. Manuel works with clay as both structure and surface, creating installations and sculptural ceramics that weave history and myth into a reflection on the ties between humanity, nature and the spiritual realm.

A new body of work by sculptural artist Manon Steyaert will also be on display. In Le Jardin, Manon explores color and materiality through a collection of ethereal landscapes crafted from her signature mediums of canvas, silicone and oil paint.

Please join us on Friday, May 15th from 6–8pm to enjoy drinks and experience the show at the gallery's new home at 74 Franklin Street in Tribeca. The artist will be present, creating a new work throughout the evening accompanied by pianist Carman Moore at 6:30pm.
