What if light could exist in a state of controlled chaos? A flexible LED filament shifts within a perfect sphere, creating an ever-changing composition of light, energy, and controlled unpredictability.

What if light could exist in a state of controlled chaos?

Hadron explores the tension between order and unpredictability, capturing light in a form that is at once precise and constantly changing. At first glance, the piece is defined by a perfect sphere, a timeless and resolved geometry. Contained within it, however, is something far less stable: a flexible LED filament that shifts and reconfigures each time it is moved. No two compositions are ever the same.

Rather than designing a fixed outcome, the work proposes a system in which variation is inherent. The illuminated filament behaves almost like a drawing in space, a continuous, irregular line suspended within a controlled boundary. It loops, folds, and drifts, creating moments that feel both accidental and intentional. The sphere becomes less a housing and more a chamber, containing energy, motion, and subtle unpredictability.

In this way, Hadron invites a different kind of engagement with light. It is not simply something to turn on, but something to observe over time. Small interactions lead to new configurations, encouraging a slower, more attentive form of looking.

The name references the hadron, a subatomic particle defined by the forces that hold it together. Similarly, the piece exists in a state of internal tension, where dynamic elements are held in balance by a unifying form.

Using low-power LED technology, Hadron achieves this with minimal energy, reinforcing a quiet efficiency beneath its expressive surface.
