In celebration of NYCxDESIGN, join interior designer Little Wing Lee and architect Frida Escobedo for a conversation exploring their work and the multifaceted relationship between interior designers and architects.
Over five years ago, 2025 National Design Award winner in Interior Design, Little Wing Lee, began designing the interiors of Ray Harlem—a new residential building designed by Frida Escobedo in partnership with Handel Architects, located in Harlem, New York. The residential portion is set to open in April 2025, with the National Black Theater, also housed within the building, scheduled to open in two years.
Together, Lee and Escobedo will discuss how they continue to engage with both micro and macro design scales through an extended collaborative process. The conversation will also offer insights into their individual approaches across a range of projects, including museums, hotels, and product design.
This program will take place in Cooper Hewitt’s Lecture Room on the museum’s ground floor. The space is fully wheelchair accessible, with theater-style seating and an accessible restroom located on the same floor. Learn more about accessibility at Cooper Hewitt [link].
