Experience Royère: A celebration of the life and work of Jean Royère—whose visionary influence helped define French decorative arts in the 20th century—and an exploration of the finest French savoir-faire that informs the creation of the Royère collection.
Each Royère piece meticulously exemplifies the spirit and precision of Jean Royère’s designs, preserving his legacy with extraordinary care. Royère’s early training in the cabinetmaking workshops of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine district in Paris shaped an approach rooted in traditional craftsmanship, allowing for innovation through a deep understanding of the making process. In reviving his designs, Royère remains faithful to this heritage, employing time-honored savoir-faire, natural materials, and artisanal methods to create refined and comfortable pieces that honor his original intent.
As Vladimir Markovic, founder of Royère and representative of the Estate of Jean Royère, explains:
“Each and every piece in the collection is handcrafted in France by a select team of skilled artisans specializing in upholstery, woodwork, straw marquetry, or metalwork—using the same traditional techniques originally overseen by Jean Royère when these works were first created.”
During NYCxDESIGN, Royère invites visitors to our New York gallery to experience first-hand the materials and techniques used to bring Jean Royère’s designs to life today—faithfully crafted using the traditional methods of his time.
