Unlock the Future of Hudson Yards through a 45-minute walking tour led by inCitu in collaboration with Helpful Places, as part of the NYCxDESIGN Festival. Together, we’ll explore future buildings and planning data using your smartphone, and uncover smart city infrastructure and other urban gems hidden in plain sight around Hudson Yards.
Manhattan’s Hudson Yards is a 28-acre, mixed-use neighborhood that sees an estimated 125,000 daily visitors. Developed in 2019, it is a self-described “engineered city.”
This walking tour is led by inCitu and Helpful Places:
inCitu brings future cities to life through Augmented Reality to foster collaboration around the process of urban change. We work with cities, urban design firms, and community advocates to spark better conversations about the future of the built environment.
Helpful Places is a social enterprise advancing technology legibility in smart(er) cities. They are the stewards of Digital Trust for Places and Routines (DTPR)—an open-source design system and data standard that brings transparency to technologies and data-collection practices in public spaces.
After the 45-minute walk, we’ll gather for discussion and networking at Little Spain.
