The Light Show: A Celebration of Illuminating Ceramics

May 15 – Jun 8, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

A.MANO Brooklyn and Lois Aronow Porcelain proudly present The Light Show: A Celebration of Illuminating Ceramics, a curated group exhibition featuring work by Brooklyn-based ceramic artists. The show will include candlesticks, candelabras, pendants, sconces, lamps, match strikers, and other objects designed to emit light or enhance the experience of illumination.

Featured artists include: Sarah Allwine, Anna Altman, BKLYN CLAY, Cammi Climaco, Gary Bui, Catie Curry, Michele Xiaoyun Fan, Nicole Pilar Fell, Grace Fossett, Christian Goodhue, Margaret Metzger, Jessica Rust, and Gigi Sharp.

This exhibition celebrates the intersection of artistry, craftsmanship, and the act of illumination through clay. Representing all corners of Brooklyn, the featured artists reflect the vibe and diversity of the borough—and the limitless possibilities for lighting with clay.

A.MANO Brooklyn will host an opening night reception for The Light Show on Thursday, May 15, from 6–9 PM. The event is open to the public. We will also host the opening night kickoff party for the Brooklyn Ceramic Arts Tour on Wednesday, May 28, from 6–9 PM. Light refreshments will be served at both events.

A.MANO Brooklyn is a creatively curated home décor and gift shop founded in 2021 by Katherine Wells. The shop features work by local artists, fine and fun stationery products, and a small café. We frequently host community events. A.MANO Brooklyn is located at 585 Dean Street in Prospect Heights, online at amanobrooklyn.com, and on social media @amanobrooklyn.

A second-generation Brooklynite, Lois Aronow has been making porcelain tableware for 30 years. Her signature beady glaze and gold luster are hallmarks of her work. She is a dedicated home grower, cannabis advocate, and a founder of the Brooklyn Pottery Invitational.

In 2024, Katherine and Lois co-curated Chronic Clay: A Celebration of Ceramics and Smoke at A.MANO Brooklyn for the Brooklyn Ceramic Arts Tour. This year, they are expanding the show to coincide with NYCxDESIGN, aiming to bring the featured artists’ work to a broader community of designers, collectors, and ceramic enthusiasts.
