Estonian Design House & Grains de Verre @ The Canvas SoHo

May 15 – May 21, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Embrace sustainable design from Estonia and chic jewelry from Ukraine, where creativity meets conscious craftsmanship to adorn and inspire.

Estonia’s design landscape is a testament to its rich heritage, innovative spirit, and commitment to sustainability. Known for its minimalistic and functional approach, Estonian design goes beyond aesthetics, embedding deep values of environmental responsibility and expert craftsmanship. This ethos reflects Estonia’s broader cultural narrative—one that harmonizes tradition with modernity to create products that are not only durable but also integral to the circular economy. In a world grappling with overconsumption and waste, Estonian designers are emerging as pioneers, offering creative solutions that prioritize resource efficiency and waste reduction.

The upcoming NYCxDESIGN event presents a unique opportunity for Estonia to share its design philosophy on the global stage. This platform will not only highlight Estonia’s distinctive design identity but also underscore its potential as a hub for sustainable innovation. By participating in such a prestigious gathering, Estonian designers aim to foster international collaborations and draw attention to their commitment to creating products that embody both functionality and environmental stewardship.

One notable success following Estonia’s participation in NYCxDESIGN 2024 is the formation of several key partnerships, including one with The Canvas Global. This collaboration has enabled the launch of 15 sustainable brands from the Estonian Design House into the market for over half a year, showcasing Estonia’s excellence in producing eco-friendly and innovative designs.

Additionally, Estonia seeks to attract international visitors to the Tallinn Design Festival, promoting cross-cultural exchange and further solidifying its position in the global design community. Through these efforts, Estonia not only shares its unique design narrative with the world but also sets a precedent for how design can address some of today’s most pressing environmental challenges.
