Forced Perspective

May 19 – May 20, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

In an era where media amplifies and distorts political and social views—where false statements, misinformation, and disunity dominate—how do design and art respond? How do they reflect, distort, or resist the chaos of our times? Forced Perspective explores these questions, creating a platform for dialogue and introspection through a group exhibition.

The concept of Forced Perspective is rooted in its dual meanings. On one level, it refers to the manipulation of perception and scale, inspiring vignettes where art, design, and space converge. On another, it addresses the “forced perspectives” imposed by political and economic power structures—those that shape how we perceive and interact with the world.

The exhibition will feature works from 15 participants, including collectible furniture and objects. Each piece will be integrated into curated interior vignettes that evoke domesticity while challenging a forced perspective or expectation.

At its heart, Forced Perspective emphasizes the importance of collaboration during uncertain times. By uniting diverse voices from New York’s creative community, the show highlights the collective power of design to foster connection, offer support, and inspire new ways of thinking.

This two-day exhibition will culminate in an opening party, inviting visitors to observe, connect, and reflect. Together, we will explore the power of art and design to reframe reality—and imagine new possibilities.
