New Lighting Collection Launch & Open Studio

May 17 – May 17, 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Rosie Li Studio is pleased to invite the trade and public to the launch of our newest lighting collection—five years in the making, and a bold departure from our previous work. This latest series marks a paradigm shift in our studio practice, embracing a new design language rooted in American industrial heritage.

Inspired by early 20th-century pressed glass architectural tiles—once used to redirect daylight into interior spaces—alongside train signal lights and crystalline formations, the collection draws deeply from both historical and geological references. We were especially inspired by the fact that pressed glass is a distinctly American invention—born from a desire to democratize ornamentation and harness light through mass-produced precision.

We developed three unique pressed glass lenses for this collection, each featuring lenticular patterns that bend and scatter light in rhythmic, prismatic ways. These lens forms serve as modular building blocks, allowing us to construct lighting objects that echo the growth patterns of crystals and the structural logic of cityscapes. Bridging ornament and infrastructure, the collection combines pressed glass with steel armatures, custom brass castings, and solid brass chain.

The collection includes three sculptural sconces, a flush-mount, a table lamp, a pendant, and a show-stopping chandelier. It will be on view for the first time in our New York studio during our upcoming May 17th Open Studio event.

Founded in New York, Rosie Li Studio is a boutique lighting manufacturer formed by designer Rosie Li and engineer Philip Watkins. Together as a team of seven, the studio reimagines lighting design as a modular, scalable system informed by science and natural forms. Each piece is made to order and can be found in private homes, public spaces, and high-end hospitality projects across the U.S. and internationally.
