Brooklyn Made x NYCxDESIGN: Open Studios at Industry City
Date: Saturday, May 17th
Location: Brooklyn Made Store, Industry City
Join us at Brooklyn Made for a special NYCxDESIGN Open Studios event celebrating Brooklyn’s creative spirit. We’re bringing together high-end design, innovative products, and local craftsmanship for an afternoon of live demos, exclusive showcases, workshops, and great community vibes—with even more events to be added throughout the day.
The Corner Gallery will feature Brooklyn Made presents Urban Hieroglyphs: Brooklyn Connection, an exhibition celebrating the visual language of street art, graffiti, and contemporary urban expression. Showcasing a dynamic lineup of artists from Brooklyn and beyond, the exhibit honors the borough’s deep-rooted influence in the global art scene. In addition, Brooklyn Made will highlight makers whose sustainable merchandise aligns with Earth Day initiatives, as well as those producing cannabis-adjacent products in honor of 4/20. Featuring artists like Al Díaz, Eric Orr, 2ESAE, and many more, this exhibition fosters conversation, cultural appreciation, and support for local creators. Join us for the opening receptions at Industry City and City Point to celebrate Brooklyn’s vibrant legacy of street art.
Experience the creativity behind the B is for Ball toy with a live product demo from Biggest Little, an interactive and beautifully designed piece for kids and parents alike. Explore stunning, high-design outdoor furniture at the OASIQ Furniture Showcase. Create your own set of custom coasters using fluid acrylic techniques in a hands-on workshop with award-winning artist Danielle M. Chery of DMC Art. Learn the art of candle making with Caroline Corbit of Element and craft your own signature scent. See and be seen at the Vontélle Eyewear Launch, where you can sip a glass while trying on bold, fashion-forward eyeglasses—because great style is all about vision.
Wrap up the day at the wine and cheese reception, where you can sip, snack, and connect with makers while enjoying samples from some of Brooklyn’s finest brands. Come for the design, stay for the inspiration, and take home something special from Brooklyn’s best makers.
This event is free and open to all. Don’t miss it!
