Beyond our annual Festival, our year-round programming provides a platform for NYC’s diverse design talent, from students and emerging designers to seasoned professionals. Each program fosters connection, education, and inspiration, empowering the next generation to use design as a powerful tool for positive impact and addressing the world’s most pressing needs.
Join us at Cornell Tech’s Spring 2025 Startup Awards + Open Studio event as we celebrate the graduating class’s student startup teams, alongside presentations of groundbreaking research, projects, and ventures launched at our Roosevelt Island campus.
The event kicks off with check-in and an opportunity to explore demo spaces at the Tata Innovation Center. At 4:00 PM, Cornell Tech Dean and Vice Provost Greg Morrisett will open the program, followed by live pitches from the finalists selected for the prestigious Startup Awards.
Up to five finalist teams will be awarded $100,000 investments in their pre-seed companies. Between the pitch presentations and the announcement of winners, attendees will also experience a range of studio showcases—spotlighting how students are innovating within large organizations, building scalable products, navigating corporate culture, and pitching to real-world decision-makers.
A distinguished panel of tech industry leaders, investors, executives, and Cornell Tech faculty will select the five winning teams. At 6:00 PM, a special guest will take the stage to announce the recipients of the $100,000 investments and studio space at Cornell Tech.
The evening concludes with a networking reception from 6:15 to 8:00 PM.
