Here Today: School of Visual Arts- MFA ixD, POD, DSI showcase

Mar 15 – Mar 16, 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Here Today invites you to explore the next generation of design innovation through a showcase of work from the MFA Interaction Design, Products of Design, and Design for Social Innovation programs at the School of Visual Arts.

The SVA Graduate Center presents exceptional projects from MFA students, spanning digital and physical experiences, products, services, and systems design. Go behind the scenes to visit the studios of all three departments and gain a deeper understanding of their distinctive processes and partnerships:

MFA Interaction Design:
Discover how interaction designers are shaping the future through inclusive tools, systems, and experiences. From AI-driven platforms to speculative design, the work showcases a range of approaches to transforming how people engage with information, environments, and each other. Meet SVA faculty and the founders of Spatial Pixel, and step into a programmable, multimodal space where interactions leap off the screen and into everyday life.

MFA Products of Design:
Experience the power and promise of design when the physical, digital, and experiential come together with policy, business, and human-centered thinking. In today’s shifting design landscape, explore how a dual focus on both physical and digital products is essential to addressing critical questions about how objects shape our lives, the impact of digitization and AI, and the importance of justice in design practice.

MFA Design for Social Innovation:
Through inspiring interventions, complex social issues, and deep partnerships, see how designers in the MFA Design for Social Innovation program find common ground in future-building. Explore how co-design and community-led collaborations support more equitable, meaningful relationships between designers and the communities they serve. How do we co-design the future we want to see?
