There’s a growing conversation in the design world—about what happens when our work moves beyond the rectangular screen.
Not just to another device, but into space itself.
Spatial computing, mixed reality, extended reality—whatever you call it—introduces entirely new ways to interact, design, and think. But for those coming from mobile, UX, or digital product backgrounds, getting started can feel daunting.
That’s why we’re gathering.
During one evening of the NYCxDESIGN Festival, we’re opening up the L+R studio in Brooklyn for a casual meetup—part community hangout, part design exploration, part open mic night—for anyone curious about what’s next.
Meridian Meetups, created by L+R, have sparked conversations around the world—from Barcelona to Accra—and now they’re coming to Brooklyn. The series is designed to help mobile designers and developers connect with the emerging world of spatial computing.
No stage. No keynotes.
Just a chance to meet up, talk shop, share ideas, and explore what designing for “space” really means.
We’ll have a few demos (featuring tools like ShapesXR), real-world projects to explore, and folks who’ve built for platforms like Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest. Whether you’ve never touched spatial work or have been immersed in it for years, you’re welcome.
Bring your questions, your weird prototypes, your half-baked ideas.
And if nothing else—come for the snacks.
