Presented by the School of Constructed Environments at Parsons, Recess // Reset is a live, interactive series that brings together designers, educators, and students to explore the evolving intersections of artificial and human intelligence—and how uncertainty, friction, and collective inquiry might shape the future of creative practice.
This spring’s edition includes short talks, breakout provocations, and a rotating “fishbowl” dialogue featuring:
Jeongki Lim, Garrett Vercoe, Katrin Bichler, Xevi Aqueel, Samar Younes, Andrew Shea, Mark Bechtel, De Angela L. Duff, Hyon Woo Scott Chung, and Michele Gorman.
Together, we’ll unpack core questions like:
- What even is intelligence, and who decides?
- What frictions are worth protecting, even at the cost of so-called progress?
- How do we teach what we don’t yet understand?
This is not a typical panel. It’s part roundtable, part experiment, and part invitation to rethink what we value in design education and in each other. We’ll end the afternoon with shared reflections and future invitations. [Hosted by Carly Cannell and Cotter Christian]
