Spotlight on Scandinavian Design

As part of NYCxDESIGN 2025, the Scandinavian Design Embassy makes its New York debut with an exclusive evening hosted at the Residence of the Consul General of Sweden, supported by the Consulates General of Finland and Norway.

This inaugural event celebrates a new chapter in Nordic design diplomacy with the launch of new collections from some of Scandinavia’s most forward-thinking design studios. In a city with a long and enduring relationship with Scandinavian aesthetics, the evening offers a rare opportunity to experience fresh perspectives from across the region.

The event will showcase new launches from five leading Scandinavian brands—Made by Choice (Finland), Vestre (Norway), and Sweden’s Mizetto and Design House Stockholm—each known for their uncompromising approach to quality, form, and sustainability.

Set in the Consul General’s private residence, the evening creates a space for meaningful exchange about the future of Scandinavian design—its forms, materials, and values.

Scandinavian Design Embassy is a collaborative initiative aimed at promoting Nordic companies internationally at Nordic Embassies worldwide. Bringing together key organizations—including the Finnish Design Embassy, Norwegian Design Industry, the Swedish Institute, and Svensk Form—the initiative strengthens the innovative and sustainable design principles that define the Nordic region.

Building on the success of the Finnish Design Embassy initiative, which has been active since 2022, this project expands the concept to neighboring countries for an even greater global presence. Several Scandinavian Design Embassy pilots will be realized in 2025.
