Fritz Hansen is pleased to present a special exhibition highlighting the iconic works of Poul Kjærholm during NYC×DESIGN 2025.
This exhibition marks the first time Fritz Hansen Americas will introduce a presentation dedicated to the world of Poul Kjærholm, the renowned Danish modernist designer and key figure in design history. The exhibition will showcase Poul Kjærholm’s key designs, placing his life and work in the context of Danish design.
Poul Kjærholm, who worked as a furniture designer from the 1950s to the 1970s, reinterpreted the Danish cabinetmaker’s tradition with modern materials and techniques. He established a unique design language that emphasized structure and form in furniture, breaking new ground by introducing steel furniture to the traditionally wood-dominated Danish market. Kjærholm’s work is an integral part of contemporary design, with pieces included in the permanent collections of prestigious institutions such as MoMA in the US, the Victoria & Albert Museum in the UK, The National Art Centre in Japan, and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark.
The exhibition will be open on weekdays, May 15 through May 21 from 10:00am – 6:00pm.
