It also documents Martha’s personal journey through the city in 2024, exploring and reflecting on its artists, architecture, historical landmarks, and personal anecdotes. The episode includes a feature on her Times Square Subway screen artwork, created for NYC x DESIGN.
Martha Ackroyd Curtis is an award-winning Australian writer, presenter, podcast host, and video, installation, and multi-media artist. Her work often takes the form of large-scale installation art, grounded in cohesive conceptual design. She has exhibited widely across Australia and internationally, participating in various art festivals—most recently as part of the Auckland Festival of Photography, a member of the Asia Pacific Photo Forum, and the Contact Photography Festival in Toronto, Canada. She was invited to the Auckland Festival of Photography in both 2022 and 2023. In 2023, she was a dual finalist at VIVID, part of the Australian International Furniture Fair + Decor and Design Show.
In 2024, Martha participated in X Pacific as part of NYCxDESIGN: The Festival, where her work was showcased alongside fashion designs by Shao Yen. She also holds committee positions with notable organizations, including the internationally recognized Lorne Sculpture Biennale in Victoria, Australia.
In 2025, she served as Moderator for a panel event as part of The Pearl Prize Season at The Wheeler Centre in Melbourne, held during the Midsumma Festival. The event also featured her signature multi-media projections.
