Beyond our annual Festival, our year-round programming provides a platform for NYC’s diverse design talent, from students and emerging designers to seasoned professionals. In recognition of NYCxDESIGN 2025 and the 20th anniversary of the iconic Strut table, Blu Dot has partnered with DUDD HAUS, the collective gallery and exhibition platform extending from JONALDDUDD, known for championing emerging designers who challenge industry norms and push the boundaries of contemporary design.
Originally launched in 2005, the Strut table embodies Blu Dot’s core principles of purposefully modern and playfully irreverent design. To celebrate the enduring success of this contemporary icon, the company’s NoMad store will host THIS IS NOT A STRUT, an exhibition featuring new, Strut-inspired works designed and produced by 21 DUDD HAUS members.
From novel extrapolations of the table’s core design principles to boldly idiosyncratic reinterpretations of its name, the works will offer a diverse vision of Strut’s lasting impact on the furniture landscape—viewed through the lens of today’s most exciting emerging talent.
