Powerhouse Arts Architecture & Fabrication Tour
Guests are invited to explore Powerhouse Arts (PHA), the leading fine art fabrication facility in NYC that convenes and connects artists to each other and vital resources to advance their creative practice. PHA President Eric Shiner will pull back the curtain on how art is fabricated in the hive of workshops dedicated to ceramics, print, and more, while architects Philip Schmerbeck of Herzog & de Meuron and Jim Seger of PBDW will speak to the extraordinary transformation of the historic power station.
Grand Central Madison – A New Landmark and Cultural Corridor
A guided tour of the extraordinary art and architectural features in Grand Central Madison. The NYC x Design Festival participants will hear firsthand from Yaling Chen, Deputy Director, and Bridget Donlon, Manager, about commissioning and installing site-specific artworks, both permanent and temporary, created for Grand Central Madison, and throughout the MTA network.
