In addition to the showcase of work by students and faculty that takes place across Cornell Tech’s Roosevelt Island campus, the annual Open Studio event includes a reception and brief presentations by teams of entrepreneurs from Cornell Tech’s Startup Studio course who will pitch their companies on stage.
A panel of tech industry leaders and executives, along with members of the Cornell and Cornell Tech faculty and staff, will select and announce up to five teams to receive pre-seed funding worth up to $100,000, including co-working space at the Tata Innovation Center on the Cornell Tech campus. Cornell Tech has launched more than 100 startups since the campus opened in 2012 with a combined total valuation of $695 million and 94% of those companies headquartered in New York City.Cornell Tech is a graduate education campus and research center of Cornell University located on Roosevelt Island in New York City.
